My Favourites...

My favourite designers have always varied but there are some fashion houses that are always there, the ones that you look forward to seeing. My specials have always been Valentino, Isabel Marant, Alexander McQueen and Louis Vuitton. I think that these designers have always caught my eye because they are classically perfect, they are classics in the fashion world and never drop from the bar they have set, year after year.

Valentino have always be home to a special place in my heart ever since falling in love with a Valentino bag in Debenhams. I saw it from the other side of the shop, glinting in the light as if sent by god (I'm very dramatic), i ran to the other side of the shop, pushing old ladies sniffing Chanel No.5 in the process. Once i got to the beloved bag my heart sank, it was way to expensive for me to even look at. And that was the point at which my heart fell in love. Ever sine then i have been following Valentino, obsessing over couture dresses and suited models. Their couture label at their Spring 2013 Couture show was phenomenal. Lace dresses with beautiful waistlines, wrought iron inspired capes, what else is needed?

Isabel Marant i always think produces gorgeous clothes. I first saw Isabel Marants work at Paris Fashion Week 2012 where she showcased a wide range of flattering, effortlessly, girly and perfect clothes. I am a great believer that fashion should not only be beautiful but also wearable and Marant makes that possible in my eyes.

Alexander McQueen is by far one of the best fashion labels around today. The ideas they have and the imagination in their team is phenomenal, they make me gawp at their endless compassion to shock and surprise makes me dribble with excitement. I got exposed to Alexander McQueen from a young age, i have a memory of watching a documentary on BBC about Alexander McQueen's life, death and fashion. i was amazed. i thought that he was such an amazing person with an incredible desire to push boundaries and shock your minds. My first fashion book was Alexander McQueen 'Savage Beauty' and i totally would recommend it to anyone and everyone who is interested. The book is 99% pictures with a 5 page interview with Sarah Burton at the back, a-maze-ing. Lastly, the one thing i really to love about McQueen is that he always made it about the clothes and never the models, exactly how it should be!

Finally, Louis Vuitton. Its a running fashion house that never ceases to amaze my eyes. the perfectness of simple lines, neat edges and show stopping performances-catwalk concerned. I think that Marc Jacobs has done a great job for Louis Vuitton and that he is really changing the fashion industry for the better. I mean, you don't get better than Vuitton, its recognisable, beautiful.

Music is you.

Although my sanity may not be perfect nor my looks however, when it comes to music: Katie knows her stuff.

I'm the type of person that is open to any kind of music, i can listen to anything and everything but still see the good in it. I think that's one of my qualities.
I love new music, i feel like the first man to venture into Tutankhamun's tomb, its like a sacred place of perfect tranquillity at which labels haven't ruined, music at its best. i feel like artists can be amazing and then once studio labels have seen a glimpse of talent they swallow them up into a world of money, fame and chart-music, they completely loose the value in their voices and suddenly seem to change.
My personal style of music to listen to is Indie/Rock with my favourite bands being Two Door Cinema Club, The Smiths, The Charlatons, Blur, Ben Howard, Kate Nash, Nina Nesbitt and The Vaccines. they all make me feel great and i love them to pieces, i mean i love them more that life itself.

Here are a few of my all time favourite songs...

And of course there are so much more that i could bore you with for days on end...

As i said, i am a huge fan of new music and the real thing that i love in people is that music defines who you are. Music is the thing that separates you from the rest. Music is you. Its the fire in our hearts and the tune in our mind, without it we would all be the same, boring piece of poo with the personality of a spoon.

If anything can annoy me about music is the fakers. The people that decide to like a certain type of music to ive up to society's definition of 'cool'. If you like Fleetwood Mac and not Justin Bieber then who fudging cares, if its what you enjoy then that's absolutely fine, who are you to judge on the taste of someone else's music?

The thing is, every piece of music is good. You cant ever say that One Direction is bad because look at their fan-base, they must be doing something right? They promote happiness and love, they are completely harmless and life loving, pretty much how we all should be, right? If you don't like death-core metal, its still somebody else's favourite.

I dare you to live a little, i dare you to be different and try something new.

Comment and tell me your favourite music, no matter what you think I'll think?

Go on.

Hello

Hello

Right so this is my first blog post, i feel like i have something to prove, convince you that I'm not as boring as i look. I thought that a good way for starting my blog would to tell you a little about myself.

I am 15 years old and live in the top of England near Manchester. I am interested in many things and very open to new things, i love fashion, photography, music, writing and particularly making people laugh.
At school i am studying Art, History, Business Studies, Media Studies and Photography.

  • My favourite item of clothing are my super skinny blue jeans.
  • I'm a size 8.
  • My favourite book is Broken Soup by Jenny Valentine.
  • My favourite film is Cars.
I will probably write about fashion as its what I really want to go into when I'm older, music, general inspirations and maybe about how that sometimes (mostly around the 20th of each month) i will go on and on about how I'm madly, truly and positively in love with a boy called **** who will never love me back in the same way.

i can tell you that you should be interested in me, tell you to like what i write but i suppose you will just have to read and see (or weep).
